Server introduction
Welcome to the Imperium server, a place for Everquest lovers, veterans and even new comers to play and experience their own adventures at their own leisure and schedule within Norrath, either in solo or with another player. In this page, you will be quickly introduced through some of the key features of the server, as well as a quick guide for leveling and starting your progression through Classic content.
You will be progressing through the game’s golden era and expansions through 6 Tiers of content, going from Classic, up to Omens of War. Additionally, have a custom 7th Tier to entertain our end-game players, with a difficulty tuned for groups. We also have The Serpent’s Spine that you can progress through as an alternative path, if so desired..!
Main features
Going solo
Everything has been tuned down to allow you to virtually solo with all of the game’s classes here, if not, most of them. I say most, because some may struggle a bit more than others because of the lack of self healing, spell power, or general survivability on their own, therefore requiring a second character to be paired with them for tougher fights. However, we do have custom augments that players can buy in the Guild Lobby (#zone 344) to trigger self healing and deal bonus damage during fights, which we encourage for your first steps.
Playing with bots
We also have bots that are enabled for players to create, manage and play with. You can create up to 20 bots and spawn 2 active bots per character.
As practical as they sound, they aren’t really necessary, as your own power in solo / duo will be more than sufficient to carry you through the server’s content. They become rather useless by Planes of Power because they can break encounter scripts since they aren’t real players. Furthermore, they lack AAs for extra power, aren’t affected by the server’s damage and healing bonuses, cannot carry augments and generally are dumb enough to cause you more trouble than necessary if you don’t watch them closely.
However, progression is still plentily doable with them, granted that you manage them properly and keep their gear in check. Just keep in mind that they cannot be as strong as real boxed characters and that they will eventually fall off from Planes of Power and onwards for this reason.
You can view this forum post for more information on which bots have the most potential.
Prestige
Another great and important feature of this server is the ability to play all 16 classes on a single character with our Prestige and reincarnation systems. In our main hub area, the Guild Lobby (#zone 344), there is a Phoenix NPC that allows you to “prestige” or “reincarnate” a character into a different class.
This prestige feature allows you to start over with a new class at level 1, keep all of your non-class specific AAs, skills and flags, then be awarded with a special augment that grows with every class you prestige into. This requires you to reach the level cap of 80 and acquire your Epic weapon 3.0.
As for reincarnating, just like prestige, you can start over with a different class at level 1 if you desire, but keep none of your stats and skills, except your progression flags. You start over with a clean slate.
You can view the guidelines about it on this post here.
The Guild Lobby
The main hub area where everyone hangs out in is the beloved Guild Lobby. You can access it by entering the zone GM command #zone 344. Everything below this paragraph will describe what can generally be found in every room and their purpose:
Center area
The main hub. You can find various merchants, NPCs for progression, Daily and Weekly tasks, buffs, as well as a few trainers. We also have NPCs for changing your race, gender, and pet’s name.
Eastern room
This is the progression room. Talking to the Tier guides will tell you which targets must be hunted in order to progress to the next tier of content and can assign you with a series of tasks in order to upgrade your Imperium Charm; It’s an item acquired in the tutorial or bought at the Merchant Draco in the Guild Lobby that grants your character with a permanent passive damage buff. You can also find NPCs selling powerful gear aimed for end-game group content and raids.
North-Eastern
Our crafting spot. Here you can find the required stations for all profession skills for your crafting needs. An NPC merchant is available for synthesis and some regents, as well as an NPC that can teach and max a skill of your choice, or all skills for a fee.
North-Western room
This is our little casino corner. We have a few NPCs with whom you can gamble away your platinums at your leisure and potentially win big..! There is also a “Veteran” and “Annoying Noob” NPC, please ignore the annoying remarks and complaints of the latter. With the former, you can tell him the following prompt “gifts” and there will be a chance for him to gift you an item with powerful stats to aid you in your journey. Mind you, this can only be done once per day.
Western room
Here you can find a couple bankers, corpses summoners and Soul binding NPCs to bind your respawn point to.
South-Western room
Everything related to augments, potions, poisons and ornaments can be found here with various merchants, as well as NPCs for special storage for Epics and other unique items.
South-Eastern room
Here you can find a few special NPCs for various purposes, ranging from custom achievement NPCs, special ornaments vendors, a deity conversion NPC and a phoenix for our prestige and reincarnation system.
